|Meet Dr. Carl Wheeler
|A Milton-Freewater Native
Carl Wheeler, DMD is proud to be a Milton-Freewater native and is happy to finally be back home after being away for twelve years.
Upon graduating from Mac-Hi, Dr. Wheeler attended Oregon State University, obtaining a Bachelors of Science degree in general science. Following his undergraduate studies at OSU, Dr. Wheeler decided to follow in his father's footsteps and obtained his Dental degree, graduating with honors from Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Oregon.
Continuing a Dental Legacy
After Dental school, Dr. Wheeler took a position with the National Health Service Corp working as a dentist at La Clinica Health Center in Medford, Oregon. He filled this position for four years and was able to gain a wealth of experience and knowledge while there. In 2011 Dr. Wheeler left La Clinica and joined Wheeler Family Dental with his father, Dr Doug Wheeler.
Since completing Dental school, Dr. Wheeler has been an active member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, Eastern Oregon Dental Society, and the Walla Walla Dental Society. Additionally, Dr. Wheeler frequently participates in continuing education courses, ensuring that he remains up to date with the most cutting-edge and scientifically-backed techniques in his field.
Oregon Dental Association Annual Meeting Council Volunteer
Dr. Wheeler has proudly volunteered for the past 3 years as a member of the "Annual Meeting Council" for the Oregon Dental Association which works to organize an annual event that brings the best dental educators and information to Oregon's dedicated dentists.
Outside the Dental Office
When Dr. Wheeler is not in the office as a dentist, he volunteers in the community. You can often find him at local meetings and events, working with the leaders of our Milton-Freewater, OR community doing so much to make this a great place to live.
Dr. Wheeler's hobbies include golf, camping, home renovations, and wrestling with his 3 young boys.
Dr. Wheeler's wife, Tara, is also a native Oregonian and was a kindergarten teacher in Medford before she and the family moved to Milton-Freewater. The Wheeler's look forward to raising their children in Milton-Freewater and being part of the community.
